Buffalo History

Because Buffalo was the terminus of the Erie Canal, more immigrants, reputedly, traveled through Buffalo than Ellis Island. Buffalo was the gateway to the Midwest. At the turn of the 20th century, the"Queen City of the Lakes" was the eighth largest city of the country. It has a fabulous history.
